General Hospital’s Drew proves on a daily basis that he is not the man he once was — or maybe this is the man he has truly been all along. Either way, Drew keeps sinking lower and lower, but is he a villain?
Who’s The Good Twin?
Cameron Mathison shocked fans when he told the audience that Jason is the evil twin during a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. Hudson asked which actor played a character with an evil twin. Finola Hughes logically raised her hand because Anna had an evil twin named Alex who allegedly died, but Mathison raised his hand too, which seemed unusual.
The actor reflected on that answer during an interview with TV Insider and realized he may have made a mistake.
“I regretted it,” said. “I should have said, ‘I’m the evil twin.’ Drew thinks Jason’s the evil twin, but he’s not.”
Jason was not the one who lied to the police just to make sure his brother would go to jail. It was a brazen lie that shocked both Jason (Steve Burton) and Carly (Laura Wright) when Drew claimed Jason wasn’t at his house when Cyrus was supposedly killed. That solidified this rivalry that doesn’t seem to have an end in sight.
Playing the Bad Guy
For nearly 20 years, Mathison played good guy Ryan Lavery on All My Children and thought he was going to play a good guy on General Hospital. After all, Drew was a hero when he first returned to Port Charles in 2021, but now he is anything but and that has been a little difficult for Mathison to play.
“I have had trouble,” Mathison said. “I’ve needed help. I’ve needed help from the writers… I’ve needed help from the executive producer, Frank [Valentini]… I’ve gone in many times… but, now, I’m all in. It’s hard. I had to say things that were so hard for me to say. I’ve been given a little bit of an arc [of what’s coming up], which helps me.”
What horrible thing will Drew do next? Somehow we feel he is going to go after Nina and it won’t be pretty.
