The year 2025 is ushered in with little fanfare on General Hospital as we don’t get a New Year’s Eve bash like previous years. However, that doesn’t mean that things are not dramatic. Here’s a look at what’s ahead for the new year.
Michael’s Exit
It’s almost time for Chad Duell and Michael to leave the canvas after 15 years in Port Charles. Michael is a legacy character born on-screen in 1997 with Duell playing a grown version of Michael since 2010. Currently, Michael is heavily involved with a scandalous story in which he cheated, was cheated on, and now has two baby mamas. However, it looks as if some revenge plans might not go off without a hitch.
“Drew and Willow’s affair has Michael’s family crumbling around him,” head writers Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte said in an interview with TV Insider. “But he doesn’t take their transgression lying down. He’s ready to fight back — when a shocking act of violence has his plans go up in smoke.”
Sonny’s Health Crisis
When we last saw Sonny, he had collapsed in the boxing ring after experiencing chest pain. He had already felt the same pains on Christmas Eve and ignored them but now things look serious and Sonny is going to have to start re-examining his life.
“Sonny is hit with an existential crisis that has him re-examining his personal and professional lives,” the writers said. “He’ll be forced to make a big decision about his future, and anything that impacts the reigning mob boss of Port Charles will impact everyone on the canvas.”
Couples, couples, everywhere
There will be plenty of potential couples ready for romance in 2025. Elizabeth and Lucky will grow closer as they try to solve the hospital murders. Ric and Ava will grow closer, but Liz’s hospital murder case will be a thorn in Ava’s side. Anna will help Valentin out of a bind, but will be the impetus for a romantic reunion?
And finally, Brook Lynn and Chase will find fertility problems and a secret that’s about to be revealed.
Don’t forget to tune into brand-new episodes of General Hospital weekdays on both ABC and Hulu.
