According to a statement from GH, Mesure opted to leave the role of Jack Brennan of his own volition. The former primetime actor known for his role on Desperate Housewives joined the cast in December of 2023 as Jack took a quick liking to Carly. After spending several months in Pentonville, Jack was released and began life again as a crooked WSB agent.
His romance with Carly finally got off the ground last week and now we will learn if Laura Wright and Chris McKenna have the same chemistry as Jack and Carly grow closer. They are back from Germany now and it will be a whole new world for them with a whole new face.

Longtime soap fans will remember McKenna from his teenage years as One Life to Live’s Joey Buchanan in the 1990s. He later starred as Detective Harding on The Young and the Restless in 2014 and 2015 where he worked with GH’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). Harding turned out to be a killer.
McKenna was excited to land the role, but had no idea who he would be playing when he read for the role.
“They wrote a scene for the audition that was in the spirit of Brennan, but they didn’t use the name,” he told TV Insider. “So, it was a unique scene just to get the feel of the character and to see how the chemistry was between Laura and me, and it was great. It was a lot of fun reading with her for the first time in forever.”
Don’t forget to watch new episodes of General Hospital each weekday on ABC and weeknight on Hulu.
