General Hospital star Cameron Mathison lost his family home during the horrific wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles last month. However, he is slowly picking up the piece of his life and is ready for a new beginning.
Cameron Mathison’s New Home
Mathison is renting a new place for now and explained in a new Instagram video that things are coming along nicely.
“Just want to give everybody a really quick update. Since the fire, I’ve received so much unbelievable support and a lot of questions as to how I’m doing and if I have a place to stay now,” Mathison said. “It has some levels to it, which is really nice, cold plunge is on the roof, which is nice.”
Mathison also thanked friends and co-stars for their support and help during this trying time when Californians are showing true camaraderie and sticking by one another.
“I’ve had places to stay from my friends and I’ve had dishes given to me and towels and sheets and clothes and I’m going to forget some things but so much kindness and generosity and I just wanted to say thanks to everybody that I haven’t posted about everything but I just love you guys,” Mathison stated.
Co-star Eva LaRue, whom Mathison has worked with on All My Children and General Hospital even gave him a couch.
Mathison’s Adjustment
Mathison was emotional after the fire that claimed his home. He lost years of photos and memories of his kids growing up and even planned to leave the house to his children so they could always have a piece of the place where they grew up. The aftermath of the fire has also been emotional these last few weeks.
“It’s been logistically and emotionally a lot for myself and my kids and family and day by day chipping away making progress,” Mathison explained. “I’m so grateful to have a place to stay, which makes it a lot easier and also the support from all of you. I really do love you guys.”
