It looks like you’ll be able to see General Hospital fan favorite Jon Lindstrom in two soap roles at once. The actor will be appearing on the new CBS soap Beyond the Gates very soon, but what does that mean for GH?
Double Duty for Jon Lindstrom?

There is no word that Lindstrom will be leaving GH for Beyond the Gates, and since he is a recurring player and not on contract, it makes sense that he can do two soaps if he is not on contract at BTG. After all, Wally Kurth can be seen on GH as Ned Quartermaine and Days of our Lives as Justin Kiriakis because he does not have an exclusive contract with either soap.
While Beyond the Gates is taped in Atlanta and GH is taped in Los Angeles, that would mean Lindstrom would have to commute back and forth. His ex-wife, Cady McClain (Dixie, All My Children, Jennifer, Days of our Lives), will be doing the same as she is also joining Beyond the Gates while living in New York City.

Lindstrom will play Joey Armstrong, a casino owner with his own sense of right and wrong. While Lindstrom’s first airdate is not yet known, he was excited for the soap’s debut on Monday. In a social media post, he revealed that he was still commuting, was now in Atlanta, and he planned to watch the premiere with the entire cast.
“Gonna watch together. We might actually stop work for an hour and check it out, hopefully at the same time as all of you,” he said. “The first-ever one-hour soap opera to be anchored by an African American family.”
Beyond the Gates is the first new daytime soap to premiere since 1999, with soap fans hoping this will be a resurgence for the genre that has been entertaining generations for nearly a century.
