Tajh Bellow, who has played TJ Ashford on General Hospital since 2018, is no longer on contract with the soap, but is he off GH for good?
Tajh Bellow’s GH Status
On the Friday, February 21 episode of GH, Bellow was listed as a recurring player when the credits rolled. That means we will still see TJ, but he is no longer a contracted leading man on the show. In fact, we have not seen the character since December when we have seen other doctors in the hospital halls.
GH has multiple actors who are not on contract who are still sometimes seen regularly, including James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine), Parry Shen (Brad Cooper), Van Hansis (Lucas Jones), Vernee Watson (Stella Henry), Michael E. Knight (Martin Grey), Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe), Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins), and Chris McKenna (Jack Brennan). Even Jeff Kober, who recently exited as Cyrus, was recurring.
A Word From Tajh Bellow
Bellow took to Instagram recently to vaguely address TJ’s Port Charles status, but also to reflect on the year he just had.
“Playing Dr. TJ Ashford has been a groundbreaking experience for my career,” he wrote. “Pouring into TJ as he poured into me has been illuminating in many regards. I want to acknowledge and thank these great sources @soaphub @abcsoapsindepth @soapoperanetwork @soapdigest @thepowerjournalist @dailydrama_com @soapoperanewsss that have credited me with honorable placement amongst my peers over the course of 2024. Grieving such immense loss took everything in me and I’m blessed that my work resonated with you all. I know a lot of my fans are wondering what’s next for TJ, but before I speak to that I wanted to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together. I’m excited for this year’s EMMY AWARDS!”
