Two of the young men who were arrested in connection to the murder of former General Hospital star Johnny Wactor were sentenced in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Prison time for two young men
Nineteen-year-old Leonel Guttierez pleaded guilty to grand theft and attempted robbery, receiving four years in prison. Meanwhile, 22-year-old Frank Olano received a sentence of five years and eight months behind bars for charges of grand theft and attempted robbery, according to the AP.
The two men charged with the murder of the former GH actor will be going to trial later this year as a judge recently deemed there was enough evidence for a court case.
Wactor was tragically killed in the wee hours of the morning on May 25, 2025, after finding several men by his car stealing his catalytic converter. Wactor had been leaving the Los Angeles nightspot where he was bartending. He tried to stop the men but instead ended up taking a bullet while standing with a co-worker who was there for the final moments of his life.
Wactor Was Beloved at GH
Wactor brought Brando Corbin to life from 2020 to 2022. He was introduced as Sonny’s long-lost presumed dead cousin and floundered around for a bit until he was paired with Sofia Mattsson’s Sasha Gilmore. After Wactor’s death last spring, Mattsson spoke out about the murder and paid tribute.
“My heart is so utterly broken… Johnny was the absolute best,” Mattsson shared on Instagram. “So genuine. So caring. Incredibly hard working and humble. With a huge heart that spread so much kindness and joy. He always made sure everyone around him felt seen, heard and loved. I admire the man he was so much and I’m a better person for having known him. We shared so many special moments, both on and off-screen, and I will forever cherish them deeply in my heart. You will be so incredibly missed Johnny… I’m sure you’re already busy taking care of everyone up there.”
