General Hospital brought the drama the week of January 20-24, 2025. Some moments were hits, some were misses, and Soap Talks has the rundown on what worked and what didn’t in Port Charles this past week.
Best of GH
Have there ever been finer moments than Tracy Quartermaine in the PCPD interrogation room making paper airplanes and launching them at Marty? Jane Elliot remains a national treasure and we want her on our TV screens all day every day.
While Sonny’s love life is lackluster even with a potential new love interest, Carly’s is heating up. It was Brennan who she said goodbye to before getting on that plane and it’s Brennan who she will spend time with in Germany.
Ric and Ava kissed. Hooray! It was a long time coming and tells us that this is the real romance to watch out for. Ric and Ava are absolute magic together and can take Port Charles by storm, even if Ava is now poor and forced to live in what appears to be Dex’s old apartment.
Worst of GH
Drew Cain-Quartermaine or whatever he wants to call himself is the most nauseating character to watch on soaps in 2025 and it’s not even a contest. We are not sure GH even realizes they have not created a love story with Willow and Drew, but instead, an abuse and grooming story that can’t end soon enough.
Why did GH feel the need to regress Cody, a character that nobody liked at the start and only just begun to warm up to? Reverting him to form is not going to help make this character beloved. This week, Cody proved just what a jerk he is by blackmailing Spinelli and decking Lucky all for no good reason.
Why is Natalia? No, really. Why? Why do we have this character who was brought onto the scene as a bigoted homophobe with no real connection to anyone? She doesn’t have chemistry with Sonny and she is just not at all needed.
Don’t forget to watch new episodes of General Hospital each weekday on ABC and weeknight on Hulu.
