The Young and the Restless brought the drama the week of December 16-20, 2024. Some moments were hits, some were misses, and Soap Talks has the rundown on what worked and what didn’t in Genoa City this past week.
Best of Y&R
A little bit of heart for the holidays never hurt and Traci and Jack gave it to us in spades when they reminisced about Christmas past. Their complicated relationship with their mother too center stage as they reminded us just why the Abbott family has been a core clan for more than 40 years.
Ian and Jordan continue to be an absolute laugh riot. Watching them bond in prison flashbacks that explained their connection was definitely a highlight this week. Two delusional characters who feel wronged are a recipe for disaster — but soapy disaster so we’re on board.
This week, we finally learned some of what actually happened to Heather. We knew Sharon couldn’t be the killer and are glad to have been proven right. Sharon’s relief was palpable, but Nick’s fear was apparent. This story is also bringing ‘Shick’ closer together, and for that, we are also grateful. We can’t wait to see what happens next.
Worst of Y&R
There is something that just doesn’t sit right about this Amy Lewis story. The red flags were there when Amy refused to go meet her son and sent Nate in her place. Is she really dying? Where is the proof in anything she is saying? Hmmm…
Billy and Sally just don’t work together. Their trauma bond is all they have. They were wronged by Adam and Chelsea and now they are suddenly together. Make it make sense. Is Sally to be the voice of reason while Billy enters into yet another crazy scheme because he thinks he was wronged?
Phyllis just needs to stop already because her thirst for revenge is getting old. She may have even realized that this week as she decided to take things in a new direction, but she did it so crazily and abrasively that all she needs now is a few months on the back burner to re-evaluate her life.
Don’t forget to watch new episodes of The Young and the Restless each weekday on CBS and weeknight on Paramount +.
