General Hospital’s Drew has gone from a beloved hero to the most hated man in Port Charles in a little over a year. While Drew hasn’t quite seemed like himself since returning from the dead in 2021, this new version of Drew is practically unrecognizable.
Enemy of the People
Drew (Cameron Mathison) has been proving that corrupt politician trope everywhere he goes. Since politicians these days can easily survive sex scandals like nothing ever happened, Drew will keep his seat in Congress — unless someone kills him first.
Portia (Brook Kerr) already foreshadowed that could happen when she told Ava (Maura West) that there is no stopping Drew unless he was dead, so who has the motive to kill him? Or rather, who will be motivated NOT to kill him?
The Suspect List
Sometimes it feels like we can just list the entire GH cast, but right now quite a few women have reason to kill Drew, including Carly (Laura Wright), Nina (Cynthia Watros), Portia (Brook Kerr), and Tracy (Jane Elliot). Others who just don’t like him include Laura (Genie Francis), Maxie (Kirsten Storms), Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), and Lois (Rena Sofer).
Drew has also made an enemy of Curtis (Donnell Turner), Michael (Chad Duell), Sonny (Maurice Benard), Ned (Wally Kurth), and Jason (Steve Burton), among others. If this many people hate a soap character, we can expect a mysterious figure with a gun to appear and take a shot. Perhaps the best outcome would be if Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) woke up and realized how she’d been used and abused by Drew.
At least that would keep things interesting, as Willow recovers from the trauma of being in two cults, the one with Shiloh — and the one with Drew. It shouldn’t be surprising that Drew and Shiloh were once old pals in Afghanistan…
