On the Tuesday, April 1, 2025, episode of General Hospital, the action pretty much stopped for a day so that GH could celebrate 62 years as a hospital and 62 years on the air, all in honor of Monica Quartermaine.
Tracy Represents

Tracy (Jane Elliot) was forced to be the bearer of bad news when she told Laura (Genie Francis) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) that Monica (Leslie Charleson) wouldn’t be able to make the dedication of the Dr. Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Care Unit. Her health just wasn’t good enough. Laura and Sonny understood, but at least Tracy was there to represent the family.

Tracy spent a lot of time at the GH memorial wall where she reminisced about her parents and brother’s contributions to the hospital over the years. She was joined by both Stella (Vernee Watson) and Ned (Wally Kurth). Tracy told Ned that she believed much of the hospital’s legacy could be attributed to Monica and Alan (Stuart Damon).
Other Port Charles citizens also visited the wall, including Donna (Scarlett Brielle) and Carly (Laura Wright). Donna placed a kiss on the photo of her grandmother Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman). When Laura and Alexis had a chat by the wall, Laura thanked Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) for the sacrifice that Sam (Kelly Monaco) made in giving Laura back her daughter before losing her own life. Sonny and Alexis also spoke. Sonny revealed that he was the donor who made the day possible, but he kept his name off the plaque so Monica wouldn’t have to think about it.
When Laura and Curtis (Donnell Turner) sat down to talk, he warned her about staying away from Sonny because her friendship with him is not a good look. He later apologized for overstepping his bounds.
Here Comes the Nurses’ Ball

Maxie (Kirsten Storms) was on hand to thank the nurses for all their hard work with Deception gift bags, but the real action took place at Wyndemere. Lucy (Lynn Herring) visited Sidwell (Carlo Rota) to make a pitch for a donation for the 2025 ball. She told him all about the history of the event going back to 1994. We were even treated to a montage of all of Lucy’s fabulous gowns through the years — gowns that usually left her in her underwear by the end of the night.

Lucy also told him how the ball raises money for HIV and AIDS research and how, in 1994, the world was in the height of the AIDS crisis. Sidwell learned all about Stone (Michael Sutton) and Robin (Kimberly McCullough) and how Robin was still with them and thriving, thanks to all the strides that have been made toward treating HIV. Sidwell then agreed to fund the entire ball 100 percent. He didn’t want Lucy to solicit any other donors.

Lucy was so touched by the move that she brought Sidwell to the dedication and announced his generosity to everyone in attendance. Laura and Anna (Finola Hughes) immediately got suspicious looks on their faces because they didn’t like this at all.
